Refried Beans and Tortillas (NOLS)

Recipe Instructions

Put water and dried onion in a large pan. Bring to a boil. Put the tomato base and powdered milk into a cup and add the water slowly, stirring to prevent lumps. Continue to stir until the water is absorbed. Stir the tomato and milk mixture into the beans. Add seasonings. When beans are done, add cheese, cover, and set aside or add cheese to individual servings. Fry each tortilla on both sides in a small amount of the butter. Spoon beans onto tortillas. Add hot sauce to taste.
