Wholesum Overview

Wholesum Food Calculator allows you to assemble meal plans, shopping lists, and packing lists in a few easy, straight-forward steps. Learn about these key functions first here. If you’re interested in taking full advantage of Wholesum’s functions, you can go on to manage your pantry inventory, ingredient costs, and define purchasing notes. Meal planning with Wholesum happens in 3 main categories, which you can learn more about on the subsequent pages of this manual. They are:

  1. My Recipes: Before reaping the benefits of the mathematical power of Wholesum, you’ll take
some time up front to enter the recipes that you plan to use in your future meal plans for
groups. Do you have a list of tried and true recipes you’ve been using for years? Just take some time to enter them into your Wholesum account as you like them so we can do the rest for you. This process can take a bit of time to get right, but once it’s taken care of, meal planning becomes a breeze from then on to maintain and organize.
  2.  Ingredients: This optional step allows you to add details to all of the ingredients used in your recipes, specifically: cost, inventory, purchase store, and purchase department. Adding these details to your ingredients will make the shopping and packing process quick and easy.
  3. Meal Plans: The final step is to create a meal plan, and will be the one you most often use
after setting up your account recipes indicate group size, appetite sizes, dietary restrictions and select which meals will be included. The magic happens here – we’ll do the math for you so shopping and packing is a breeze each time you are planning for a group. At any point in the process, you can return back to your recipes, ingredients or meal plans to make changes.
